First Modern Warfare 2 map pack announced
![[Image: thumb160x_stimulus.jpg]](http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/9/2010/03/thumb160x_stimulus.jpg) Quote:Capping off a fairly terrible fortnight of news surrounding Call of Duty developers Infinity Ward comes word this morning that Modern Warfare 2's map pack is one of the most over-priced pieces of downloadable content we've ever seen.
Popping onto Xbox Live spokesman Larry Hryb's podcast to promote Modern Warfare 2's upcoming "Stimulus Package" map pack (which is launching first on Microsoft's console), Infinity Ward's Robert bowling revealed that the five maps - two of which are old maps being re-released for this game - will cost 1200 Microsoft Points.
Or, $15.
For five multiplayer maps.
Fifteen. Dollars. Or, if you're so inclined, £10, €14, or AUD$19.
Hoo boy.
Holy fuck.

RE: First Modern Warfare 2 map pack announced
The maps as reported this week are:
•"Bailout," a multi-level apartment complex;
•"Storm," an open industrial park littered with heavy machinery;
•"Salvage," a snowy junkyard fortified by stacked debris and crushed cars.
•"Crash," a war-torn urban environment (slightly reworked Call of Duty 4 map);
•"Overgrown," which features a massive dry creek bed" (slightly reworked Call of Duty 4 map).
No word on new achievements.

Me neither, that's what I'm talking about! I also have Halo Wars and Madden for the 360 and AvP and Infamous for the PS3 that I've never even played all because of this stupid multiplayer. Some of them might not even be open yet. No school this semester though will finally give me some time to enjoy myself more though. Can't wait.

$15 for the maps is kinda gay

RE: First Modern Warfare 2 map pack announced
I will say it right now.. I think its really lame they are adding 2 old maps in... Id honestly rather pay 10 and just get 3 new ones... but either way it will bring alot more life into this game seeing Im playing no where near as much as I used to...
Anyone saying they never played the Campaign DO IT NOW... honestly I hate campaign modes on games but this one kicked ass... get a 12 pack and invite a friend over Im pretty sure you can beat it in one night...

also, they're probably going to do a few new game types also. one of my friends got me into a test game for global thermonuclear ware mode. it was buggy as hell, but that was a few months ago

Preference I guess. Duty is more about close quarters and fast kills. Battlefield is more about big maps and vehicles. And Duty is more fast paced like an Arcade shooter. Battlefield feels like it's more realistic. IF grainier graphics mean that for you. They do for me
