some of the saddest pro wrestling news i've ever heard

4. Triple H - 1,151 days
5. Pedro Morales - 1,027 days
6. John Cena - 969 days
7. Bret Hart - 654 days

the fact that John Cena will be in the top 5 of that list pretty soon is alot sadder.

HHH has had a lot of reigns but they've mostly been short.

And Cena works his balls off for that company. Dude deserves it, even if he is a shitty wrestler.

Holding the belt for one day during your 15 year tenure with the company is pretty legendary stuff.

ASP, I'd job for you any day.

well i mean i've never owned any john cena merch, nor will i, even though some of it is pretty bad ass, like that 8-bit shirt, that's awesome, but its cena's, so meh. but praising austin and shitting on cena is just retarded. i mean apples and oranges of course, but compare the two. seriously, come on now.

Compare the two? Okay.

Wrestling wise: Austin was leaps and bounds above Cena. Now, admittedly, most of the time he didn't show it. His whole gimmick was punch & kick and middle finger. But even late in his career, when he was having matches with Chris Benoit and HHH and them, Austin was incredible. Dude had a match on Smackdown with Benoit once that was probably one of the best free-TV matches of all time. Just a wrestling clinic. Cena has never had that good of a match, ever. Austin did it during his WCW days regularly and a lot more often later in his career just to prove he could. His WM matches with Rock are all classics also.

Promo/entertainment wise: no fucking comparison. Austin >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Cena

The WWE title means nothing anymore anyway. The belt can be won by just about anybody, gets passed around like currency, and looks like it was designed by Mattel.

Austin's last great feud was vs Kurt Angle in the fall of '01. even in those matches, where he was a shell of his former self, he rocked. hard.

now let's really compare:
The Condemned vs. the Marine

RE: some of the saddest pro wrestling news i've ever heard
Lets also think about this:

Austin became champion at a time where he wasn't near as mobile and had nearly been paralyzed from an in-ring incident months prior. True Cena has sustained some pretty serious injuries throughout the course of his career but what Austin faced completely changed his style of wrestling as well as the opponents that Vince would have to put with him just to take that extra precaution and yet he was still able to have some of the best matches of his career while having to work at a lesser rate than he would have had he not been hurt.

Cena was a pretty shitty wrestler even before his injuries and doesn't seem to be making any strive to get better. Yeah I'm definitely with Peezy on this one.

The Condemned: Original, decent acting, good cast, Austin was OK. Kinda cheezy at times with an assbackwards ending but overall good time movie.

The Marine: "Holy shit, this building is gonna blow up, I better run out of it and jump at the last second!"

How is it original when it was clearly meant to be a spin-off of The Running Man?

Condemned was more of a Battle Royale spin-off than Running Man but yeah, not original.

there's no comparing Cena to Austin.............yet.

One day, though.........I'm sure he'll surpass him. Austin hit it big at the end of his career after being passed around World Class, WCW, ECW then finally the WWE. He had a good 2 or 3 year run at the end of his career. Cena, on the other hand, was young as shit and given the keys to the castle immediately.........he'll be a main eventer on top for 15 years. Given enough time on top as the #1 guy.......you're going to sell more tickets and more merchandise. It may take 15 years but Cena's crap is going to outsell Austin's.........only because Austin was only on top for a minute, even then he was splitting time with DX, the Undertaker, Mick Foley, etc.

Out-selling is one thing

Out-drawing is another

No way will Cena ever out-draw Austin. Ever.

Now does this just inclue the old and current WWF/WWE champion title, or is the WCW world heavyweight title thrown in there seeing how it was bought, because there were some WCW guys who held titles for ridiculous amounts of time.
