TNA's got a decent talent pool these days. But it doesn't seem like the booking is getting any better.

I can only think of a few names from Wrestling's past that would create a spike in ratngs:

The Rock
Stone Cold
The Ultimate Warrior
Van Hammer

Feel free to build on this list...because not even current WWE Mega stars (Jeff Hardy) will do much for ratings. Cena, Taker, Michaeles, Edge, and HHH are the only current stars that come to mind that would have a big, lasting boost in the TNA ratings. Orton, Jericho (sorry fanboys), big Show, or Michael Cole would create legitimacy but wouldn't make half the iMpact that the other guys would...there just wouldn't be a lasting effect.

A guy I know writes for a site & he made a pretty valid point, tna is so stuck on trying to get surprise pops that they hurt themselves. They have RVD coming out & try to keep it a secret(then it goes all to shit too) & this huge debut is probably blown.

Next week Stone cold will be on raw & WWE lets you know so you will watch & talk to friends about watching thus increasing the chances his appearance will kick up ratings.

Just one of the little things that they should think about

And I agree they try too hard too often to bring in surprises to get their cheap pops...but I really wonder about the whole RVD thing. I kind of feel that the leak of his debut was intentional. It get the entire IWC talking and it was still a surprise to those who watch who are not a part of the IWC.

It seems like a Bischoff-like move. It is smart.

Yes but you want to draw casual fans & this would have been the way. Imagine if those commercials they aired during wwe programming the last 2 weeks instead of promoting Hogan(Who a lot of the younger marks barely care/know about) those commercial advertised RVD & Jeff Hardy. I bet a lot of those kids & fat gothy girl would have "crossed the line"

I watch NXT only because it is something other than what I see on RAW every week. Other than that I watch Impact. I can't imagine I am the only one that thinks that way. TNA has talent waaaaaay beyond anything that the E can Fathom. Its just a shame that they left it up to Hogan to decide what to do with it.

Who cares about sheep or food comparisons. I'm talking ratings. For TV shows, thats the only thing that matters. Even if TNA put on a show consisting of nothing but the entire roster having an all out gangbang orgy and it only drew a .5 rating it wouldn't keep the show on air any longer. Ratings = more ad dollars which means more money. Money is the bottom line for every business.

It still boggles my mind that you can have some of the "best" wrestling talent in the world, and your show can get beat by a bunch of jabronies no one knows. TNA fucking sucks because of that fact.

Here's the bottom line. Right now TNA is better than WWE because:

-They aren't afraid to show blood. I know there are a lot of those fans that say "Well if you can't have wrestling without swearing, ultra violence and adult subjected material then it's junk and not what pro-wrestling should be;etc". Am i suppose to believe that in the 20+ years I have watched pro-wrestling suddenly it is a crime for a guy to bleed after taking a chair shot to the forehead? Give me a fucking break

-Their champion while slightly overrated is actually wayyyyy more tolerable than WWE's most marketable wrestler. At least when I turn it to TNA, I'm spared my dignity as an adult wrestling fan not having to see thousands of screaming children waving John Cena signs and throwing up DX glow sticks as if half of them were even alive to understand what its significance to pro-wrestling was in the first place.

-I have the same problem with TNA's booking as every other mark but while I would rather do my best to not see Hogan or Flair (any more) every Monday night, at least I can trust that every week there will be a good X-division bout where some real workers will go out and give their all for the fans who will actually appreciate it rather than just falling asleep waiting for Cena to come out and give the same promo week after week.

-Say what you will about TNA's ratings being in the toilet and everything else that is wrong with the company. I'll be the first to admit that it isn't always my first choice but what WWE has become is damn insulting to an era that completely changed wrestling and if anything should have said to McMahon "You know what? This is the way that pro-wrestling should be done" as well as the workers who were a big part of making it happen. TNA may not always be in the right booking Sting, Hogan, Nash, Flair, Hall;etc every week but at least they show some appreciation to the work they have put in and don't purposely try to tank their shows every week with children-directed dialogue and constantly smearing this idea of a "Universe" that ultimately represents everything WWE has driven itself away from.

Do what I did - stop giving a fuck about it. Move on with your life. Watch some DVD's when you get a chance, but don't try to make any sense out of wrestling. If the people involved can't, why should we.
