WWE's a much bigger company. You can't credit Austin for that. Otherwise, you might as well say Criss Angel is as big a draw as Austin too, since they slaughtered TNA last week.

It's probably why they went this route. Remember back in the Attitude Era and they were losing sponsors due to it being racy and having some mild cursing?
I think Coke dropped them back then, and they started the whole RTC shit.
RTC was a play on the PTC (Parent's Television Council) who decided they were going to make an example out of WWE and started attacking them at every opportunity.
And they might have lost a few sponsers, but the Attitude Era was also drawing sometimes DOUBLE the ratings that it draws now. I'd say that offsets it.
Also, fun fact, I decided to look up the PTC and found this:
Quote:On November 9, 2000, WWE filed a lawsuit against the PTC in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, claiming that the PTC's statements were false and constituted defamation. WWE also filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against the PTC for using clips from WWE programs in their promotional videos. The PTC filed for dismissal of the suit, but on May 24, 2001, U.S. district court Judge Denny Chin denied the PTC's motion on the basis that WWF's lawsuit had merit. PTC and WWE settled out of court and, as part of the settlement agreement, the PTC paid WWE $3.5 million USD and Bozell issued a public apology. The apology stated that it was wrong to blame WWE or any of its programs for the deaths of children and that the original statements had been based on what was later found to be false information designed by people close to the Lionel Tate case to blame the death of Tiffany Eunick on WWE.
Damn, WWE owned that bitch ass. I had no clue.

hahaha, apparently the Impact replay in its old Thursday timeslot had the EXACT SAME RATING as when it aired new on Monday night. Honestly, if I knew it were reairing on Thursday, I would have waited to watch too and watched Raw on Monday instead

Honestly, since I don't know what ratings his show draws, I can't say. Good point though sir.

Eh, it's just that at this point, WWE is going to walk all over TNA. It's gonna be like that for a long time. TNA is going to have to really get their shit in order before they can hope to compete with WWE

RE: The ratings are in....
I remember that PTC shit. There was some dumb ass kid who was like 12, and while his crack head mom was upstairs, he powerbombed his little sister and killed her. The PTC tried blaming WWE and when they aired this on Dateline back in 00/01 my mom MADE me go in the living room and was like "see you shouldn't be playing around like that." I never did any of that dumb shit, I did trampoline wrestling, but we didn't do the stupid shit with lightbulbs and all that. Mom wasn't a bad mom, just trying to be overly protective sometimes. I did a report on bad parenting and its correlation to kids hurting themselves via back yard wrestling and hitting people with lightbulbs and cheese graters, mom got off my case.
