I've never played any of the Socom games before, is this game going to be worth buying a PS3?

I love first person shooter games, and I thoroughly enjoyed the Rainbow Six franchise. I'm not really sure if Socom is either 1st or 3rd person.

Socom 1 and 2 were awesome. I was not a fan of 3 or Combined Assault. I don't think the new one looks any good either.
